Bob,

It would appear that Chev CMPs started using fuel pumps with priming levers during 1943. Please see attached image from Spare parts list C15-03.

It also appears that the fuel pump bowls were metal: https://www.lwdparts.com/product/fue...-ac-fuel-pump/
