Wow. As you say Mike, not many left and certainly not in a restorable condition. Very few dings and dents, and the missing bits are all procurable from salvage, NOS or reproduction - even those missing original door hinges! Love the adaption of some hardware hinges to overcome the lower hinge problem.
At least 146 served with the 2AIF, and an unknown number with the AMF. Of those assigned to the 2AIF, at least 118 were sent overseas in 1940. Several were subsequently lost in Greece during that military debacle. Would be a very satisfying restoration of a 'Van, 12 cwt, GS (Aust)'. Mike
