You can also get a guy with a "wire cutter" to cut an internal spline of any size out of any material, quite an easy process, simpler than broaching, and very accurate ,Cheers Andrew.

Many hydraulic pumps use a splined shaft. If you check with a shop that deals with hydraulics you may find something that will work.
