That film gave me serious flashbacks to when I would try (in 4WD of course) crossing soggy ground and knowing deep down I'd eventually lose momentum and sink in. Every stinkin' time. Then came the gooey battle with the shovel and whatever scraps of wood you could find to haul your sorry arse out of there. Never once was there a solid three I could use the winch on. Not once.

I got a chuckle out of "choose the right gear to attempt a slope". That may be an option with CCKW's but as any CMP driver will tell you, there is only one appropriate gear to get you up a 'gentle' slope. First. Low range if ya got it.
