Scott, I was up at Brian Asbury’s today and we looked at an original AM General data plate from a Canadian contract M151A2 which was a proper 5-digit serial stamped on the data plate. There is a corresponding Ziebart plate with a 74-9XXXX number that was written on the back, so our assumption is on my jeep is that whoever restored it put on a replacement data plate and used the CFR number as part of a “self-created” VIN in order to register it with the Ministry of Transportation in Alberta or BC.

Is it possible for you to use what I am assuming to be the vehicle CFR (74-95012) to check the database to find the 5-digit serial?

Unfortunately the CFR (74-95012) you are hoping to use for your M151A2 was actually assigned to a piece of road construction equipment.

Hey Ed,

could you do a look up on an Iltis?
CFR is 87666
Unit would be either 1 MP Regt, 15 MP Coy or 12/11 MP PL.

Cheers!

Vik you know as much as I do, your MP Iltis was disposed of from ASU Chilliwack in January 2007.

The VMOs show it was part of 12 MP platoon in the latter part of it's life. Right towards the end it was also sent to the BCDs for a conversion course.

MTEC 0033 is CFR78524. It appears to have spent it's entire service life with 1PPCLI. (June of 86 to Aug of 95).

Default Manic M101 Model 40108 Trailer

Your Manic M101 Model 40108 Trailer serial FA44 was CFR 81-44116. It was accepted in April 1982 and disposed of from CFB Valcartier in April 2000.

Default M151a2 cfr?

Trying again to see if this is a serial number for my M251A2.

I found “42323” on a plate on the transmission, so wondering if that could be it. I know SN should be on the body tub - mine shows 74-95011292 on the tub. You’ve said that number isn’t in the CFR database, but I guarantee that this is a former CF machine.

Could you check to see if 42323 could be the assigned CF serial?

Thanks!
Sean

Unfortunately 42323 does not fall within the CFR range for Canadian M151A2s.

Would it be possible to find information on an Iltis BI01-11-84-86115, CFR 86115?

Or CFR 86454 ?

I would really appreciate any information available.

Thanks!
