Default C 3511

The WC21 C3511 may be a PMG truck . The Nr. plate appears to be the pressed metal type, although looking closer it might be fixed to a block of wood.

For the younger generation: PMG = Post Master General or Post Office. The PMG morphed into being known as Telecom then later on became known as Telstra

PMG service was actually broken up and split into 3 corporate organisations: Australia Post, Telecom and Overseas Telegraphic Communications (OTC). We (taxpayers) once owned all three, but it was deemed uncompetitive and monopolistic, so we now pay higher prices for poorer service from less qualified staff.
And then they created NBN Co just to show how good Telstra and AP were in comparison.

Doctor McKenzie who was a Doctor working in Dietetics for the Department of Works and Housing. Frank Young arrived in Darwin in May 1946 to work as a staff driver for Works and Housing. In June 1946 he was flown to Alice Springs to drive Dr McKenzie back to Darwin, checking at several farms en route. This Dodge 4 wheel drive weapon carrier was the vehicle they travelled in.

Default Dodge

Another Dodge WC52 ? in service with the Snowy Mountains Authority

Years ago, near Adelong NSW , I looked at two very nice ex-SMA C15A CMP trucks , the farm owner said he had purchased them from the SMA in the early 1950s. The SMA logo was visible on the doors, both still had the GMH steel GS body fitted. I have pics somewhere.

SEC had them too
