Thanks for the update Harry.

Bruce, if you search this forum you’ll see the CMP mirror problem was solved already, see e.g. http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=20335 or search for Lucas mirror.

On the refinishing; I bought some headlight reflectors from Macs. They were chrome plated? they were "Horrid" (f**n terrible!)
I had some old ones re silvered. they came out great. There is a big difference.

Another note: Someone on here mentioned that John Deer sell a very similar mirror. I don't know if it is still current?

Default John Deere mirrors

I posted about the John Deere mirrors on the C60 thread. They are cab interior mirrors and are convex like the original CMP. The CMP mirror was 2 3/4" x 5 5/8" (7cm x 14cm ) and the JD mirror is 3 1/2" x 7 1/2" (9cm x 14 cm) so a larger mirror. For the purist not a good match, but the larger area gives a better field of vision. And being Deere and Co., not cheap

Gordon, I bought the John Deere ones and I am very happy with them. Readily available but as you say not for the purist.
I have never had anyone say to me that truck looks terrible with John Deere mirrors, they have said though where did you get original mirrors from.
Ken
