And the left one had six holes vs. the usual five. That’s why I merged it here.
Did these plates come off a Ford? Until now it seemed they were only fitted to late Chevrolets.

Hanno, what is the auto pulse switch for do you know.? Is it a Europe feature.? Is it for an electric fuel pump.? I have never seen a switch plate here in Australia with that middle location being labeled, I have only seen them as blank.

Beau , it is for a small auto pulse electric fuel pump , it was additionally mounted behind the battery box inside the chassis , to overcome vaporlock problems .

LWD parts has both the wiring for the pump at https://www.lwdparts.com/product/wir...mp-connecting/ and the pump at https://www.lwdparts.com/product/fuel-pump-6v/

"Autopulse" was a company that manufactured electric fuel pumps. Interesting that Ford and Chevy both refer to it by the trade name and not its functional name in various publications and even on a switch plate. I can only vouch for what is written in a Ford Parts List, and not Chevy, but it specifically states that the "Autopulse- std equipment Indian Army" I have never seen one here too. But who knows. No doubt it was used in other theatres but a Parts List written in 1943 was still mid war so maybe India was not exclusive. With vapour lock a problem in hot climates it would make sense to fit it on Australian delivered vehicles. My late war original wiring harness included the wiring for it but a blank switch plate where it should go. Cheers,

Hi Mariano,
Nice photo of the Autopulse electric fuel pump. I thought I would have a look at my original ignition switch tails again to figure how the Autopulse was wired up. There is a doubled up red and black wire from the ignition switch. One goes to the resistor but I was not sure where the other one went. Wiring diagram states: "No. 45- ignition switch to lead from Autopulse pump" "No. 46- Autopulse switch to Autopulse pump" Could not understand why there would be two leads to the Autopulse the way it read. I believe No. 45 may just be a jump to the input side of the Autopulse switch as per attached diagram. With that arrangement one cannot run the Autopulse without having the ignition switch on. This would be a good safety feature. One can still start the engine without having to run the Autopulse, a valuable feature when not needed. It sounds very simple and perhaps that is all it was. Would be interested to hear what others may think. Cheers,
