Default Square holes

Tony

You need one of those drills that makes square holes

There is a process called broaching, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broaching_(metalworking) square holes are made possible . Would it be possible to fabricate new sockets from aluminium or brass stock rather than a casting process ?

Default Update

OK... Its been a while but this project has been embarked upon.

I have had the help of a engineering business in Corowa for the rods and the Canvas has been very well done by a professional trimmer who specialises in the WW2 gear.

This is the result..

Looking good

I posted the original curtain to Matt just after Corowa. The vinyl trim piece around the clear plastic windows is a dark green on the original , we discussed it at Corowa ?

I think you're right Mike. Maurice's example on page one of this thread certainly supports that. His example has green vinyl.

However - if you have a look at Jim Prices example further down it has a black surround.

I have yet to do the fasteners at the bottom. Matt did leave the curtain a bit longer for alteration if necessary.
