I think that he was very lucky that the rear mudguards did not catch the car as he drove off it.

I think that he was very lucky the front idler spindles did not snap off. That's a very hard landing with no suspension!

The hard landing may not be as hard as one suspects, looking at the driver head movement at the critical moment. As for the rear mudguard extensions, would the bottom edge of the vertical differential cover have caught before the extensions? The mudguard extensions on the MK-II* are exceptionally heavy gauge. Watching it in slow motion most of the weight was still on the bogie wheels when the front made contact with the ground. These vehicles are well built and made to take that kind of a drive. As was mentioned the car vrs a carrier fender....im going to go with the carrier fender winning.
Exceptional driving by the driver.
