Hi there folks . Found it . Black is stop and white is tail light . The stop light is always on. The tail lights are on when the differential ( round white ball ) light is off and conversely the tail lights are off when the white diff light is on at the switch . So you really only need two wires after all ! Red from the Jeep is ground to the frame of the trailer . The WW2 US Jeep as used by Canada also has 4 wires in the trailer socket : Black , White , Green and Red . The White from the US pigtail was for BO( Black- out ) Stop . It is not needed on the Canadian trailer so i will just cancel it . The 3 others are Stop- Tail- Ground . Simple isn’t it ?

Hi . The trailer light harness is done and tested . All lights work . I have added like i said previously a second brake light for safety reasons . I will install the harness after work in the next few days .

You can make your harness and send it to a place like vintage wiring of Maine, who will weave the cloth on for you. You can also buy the old asphalt coated cloth loom from a place like NAPA, or any of the vintage parts stores. The only problem with NAPA is you have to order it a 50 foot roll at a time. It comes in different diameters. Here are a few part numbers, but your NAPA dealer can find you the other sizes; 3/4" =737106 5/8 = 737105 1/2" 737104 3/8= 737103 If you want to go with radio suppressed, you can buy the woven metal sheath. You have to feed the wires through, then stretch the metal sheath so it tightens onto the wire. |

Thank you very much Jordan , found it . Very helpful. Thanks Rob . I love it when my local NAPA store stock some of the parts needed for my restorations . No waiting for a shipment , no shipping fees , no customs no hassle . Here we have a picture of the new disc i just made from the bottom of an old coffee can .... When i pull a trailer train next summer i will be visible all the way to Shilo ! .....
