that makes sense.I couldn't see why a condenser would be needed for the gauges to work.

Maybe they were fitted to the vehicles that had electric fuel pumps? ...Or were some CMP's suppressed and others not?
David maybe you need to look via those companies that fit R.Ts. or at radio shack type places, rather than automotive parts places.
Unless you are operating radios or are concerned about what your veh. is doing to other peoples radios / t.v. etc., then I wouldn't worry about fitting them.
Automotive condensers for 12 volt ignition runs about 5 or 6 mfds. I can't remember what a 6 volt set up uses.
