Info needed: Chev 216 Oil pickup and Main Bearing

Hi Phil,

I've looked at your very useful info online before and we are taking great care not to disturb the oil dippers etc.

I've got a copy of the MB C2 manual, but unless I've missed it, there is nothing about how the remove the oil strainer. If you are able to confirm that would be great. thanks

The oil pick-up strainer is held in the cup with a wire clip that runs from one side of the cup to the other. With this removed the strainer will easily be taken out of the cup.
If you then look down the centre of the pick-up tube you will see the hex head bolt holding the pick-up to the bearing cap.
You can see the join line in your photo adjacent the soldered connection.
