After a long time, I manage to do at least something on the carrier.
Using my favourite redneck method of steel forming (hammer & heat) I prepared two wading plates to be welded on the firing cover

When I was at Bovington I found an interesting difference on the wading plates on the firing cover. The right one had on the top and on the bottom end semi-circle recess, which doesn't make a sense to me. Now I got the point - it's a place for two rivet heads, which are not obviously present on the Bovington's carrier but are on each Mk.II/III firing cover. Interesting detail
