Default Thanks

Thanks Rob,
much appreciated. I assume that the Westminster Rifles is basically the same regiment as the Westminsters?
It was also my understanding that the Canadian, and in fact, most Commonwealth Whites did not have the unditching roller mounted.

Cheers
Gord

Yes, Westminster Regiment is correct for WWII.

I call them the Westminster Rifles as My Grandfather was in the Rifles prior to WWI.

I have never heard of removing the unditching roller, when I restored the SAR Halftrack, it was a huge effort to remove the roller.

I wonder why they would do that?

Perhaps it just wasn't needed.

Default Thanks Rob

Thanks Rob,
It's a good question on the roller. There are few, very unclear, photos of Canadian Whites and none of them have it installed.
I thought as much on The Westies.
I have seen photos on here of the SAR Halftrack restoration you did, really very impressive. that's another model I plan to get into. Is it OK to bug you for details when I get started on the Halftrack?
But first things first, The new Tamiya kit looks like a real winner and I am itching to get started. With what you have sent me already I have enough to get started at any rate.
Cheers
Gord

Default Another Scout Car in Cornwall, ON

Maybe ten years ago I was surprised to see an M3 on the floor of the Stormont Dundas and Glengarry (ie Sand Dirt and Gravel) Highlanders in Cornwall ON.

No idea if the markings are accurate, but their regimental museum is likely to have original photos or artwork.
