Thank you Lang and David. I did wonder if an "improvement" had occurred.
I have another question in the same vein: I have a crankshaft with a smaller dia. thread in it for the drive dog. (front pulley bolt that the crank handle fits into) Is this crank also from the later engine?

I have not encountered a 230 ci crankshaft with different thread for the crank handle dog yet Lynn but am not surprised to hear of it. CDDP seem to have played silly buggers with their engines altering things for no apparent reason such as the bore diameter of the camshaft timing gear hub for example.
