Thanks Maurice. One holds 2 cables, the other only one. Is one British (Solex carb) and the other for the Canadian carb? The double one looks like two cables would interfere with each other. Does it just cater for an optional mounting angle?
Can someone enlighten me?

Dave, Nope! They're not unfortunately. I'd think they'd be from brake cables.
They have a 1/4" BSF thread and the big dia is 15/16". The "spigot' part (fits in a hole?) is about 9/16" They make me think of Morris handbrake, but not quite the same. The first item is a weld nut (3/8" UNF) The square headed bolt is 1/2" UNF (Ford car brake backing plate?) The brass (bronze?) plug is 9/16" UNF (18tpi) This stuff came from a place that was mostly war surplus (WWII)
