Very unlikely - it must be the other way round. For example, the 2.5-ton GMC CCKW-353 has a 5-ton highway rating.

I´m still not sure, David. You have reseached this matter, from which I learned it seems the FAT was developed before the 4x4 15-cwt.

As for the commonality, I dare say there were more differences between the 4x2 and 4x4 15-cwt. chassis than between the FAT and 4x4 15-cwt. chassis.
