It is a puzzle as the device seems to have a power transformer, socket for rectifier & filter cap. Front panel has a mains switch. There is only one connector and it doesn't appear to have anything to do with RF frequencies.
Can you provide a photo of the chassis under the tubes? |

Hello Daniel, its a test instrument (RF oscillator) for an early British Army Radar system operating on 1 1/2 meter. I do not know the type though It might be Elsie, a searchlight radar or some other sort of radar used by the Army. I have somewhere here a quite similar item.
