Indeed, Jim is to be commended for taking this initiative and Irfan for applying his skills while making a living.

Let's leave this debate where it is and move on to the next project: denim coveralls. Bring it on Jim & Irfan!

Well my suit arrived today, and I have to say I am very very very happy with it indeed ! A perfect fit too. I am a typical size of your average 1940's British soldier ! 5'10" 36" chest 32" waist. I purchased a size 5 and it's spot on with my denim bottoms on underneath and a jumper.

Very warm too.

So glad I bit the bullet and got one now.

A couple of shots showing one of the new tank suits. It has the same weight as my smaller original but is much more supple and easy to move in compared to the stiffness of the original. My original is a size 5 but I had this one built as a fantasy size 7 so I can wear full battledress underneath if we ever play up north during the winter months. Temps were hovering around 50F when we took these so I was only wearing shorts and a tee shirt underneath so the suit hangs loosely on me but was nonetheless very comfortable.

PS - should have worn a tanker badge for the shots with the Sherman but it was a spur of the moment opportunity ;-)

Yes, the girl in the turret is my older daughter Tiffany who is currently 25 years old. She has been part of the Sherman crew for several years when the military base holds public events that it attends like this past weekends show battle.

Not sure if this will work but the link below is a short video clip my wife shot showing the Sherman maneuvering with her being TC.

This is because the 'plastic' layer between Outer and inner is not there in the repro. The original has a (What I think) waterproof layer in upper arms upper legs shoulders, breast and upper back.

Plastic sleeve? That was there in the sample. It is a modern substitute and is very flexible. When i checked that, I had to work at trying to separate the layers to feel the middle layer.

I had stressed to Irfan how important it was that the arms, chest and back have it. When we play field tacticals on rainy days ( rain is period!) we need the upper body waterproofing.

I am very surprised if he didn't have that in.

Let me email him and verify that.

Jim

I was a little to fast in the reply, sorry.....

Arms do not have that but the top 10 cm from shoulders do.
Chest does have it up to the top if the chest pockets (15cm from top seam down)
Also the upper 15cm of the back. (Measured from top seam)

Upper side of the legs (When driving) dont have it.

The original I refer to has a waterproofing the whole chest. (Partial) back, Full sleeves and top of the legs (till knee)

Added Some photos to my comparison album.

I finally have taken delivery of my suit, it having been sent to a different part of the country...... Fortunately to a friend so I collected at Beltring. As others have observed, the original sizes are not the same, I have an original size 6 which fits perfectly but Irfans size 6 is a little smaller but not enough to be a problem, especially if not used as an oversuit in the strictest sense.

However, a mate ordered a size 4 as his original size 3 is too tight in the body and the new size 4 is a very close match to his size 3 and therefore too small for him. Does anybody wish to buy it? It is a close match to an original 3 which is 5'7 to 5'8 tall, 36"-38" chest, 32"-34" waist and 31" leg. These sizes are over clothes so will fit a larger size.

He is asking what he paid, it is in the UK and available now.

Irfan is finishing off the last couple of re-dos for people that had mistakes in their custom orders.

I have your new interior straps. Send me your postal and I will get them off to you.

Had several cases of suits going to the wrong person.

We had one where irfan shipped three suits to Europe and was told only one was in the box. Box weighed 10 KG. But only one suit.....

Some others have been well made but wrong sizes. A bit of swapping around and I now have a couple of suits to sell....

What a headache!!!!

But, the denim sample is supposed to be in from the mill this week. Irfan will send me pics of it with my original samples in the pic to compare.

If this is correct, then we have to buy a roll of 2,000 meters/yards to get any.

But the plan is that WPG will buy the bulk of it.

When we confirm that the fabric is the right stuff, then we will publish new size charts and go from there.

Hi, guys from my group got their pixies in the mid of July. Nicely made, also the perfect fit. Very good quality.
Only one minus point is that they were delivered 3 months later than promised, so if anyone is going to order some, please count with this.
Thank you for your effort, Jim!

Jim, I was just over in Arnhem with Martyn Tasker who had one of your suits and an original. Very very good reproductions my friend. Hats off to you.

Just curious if everyone has received there suits or not. I received a goof on the first try and have been on contact with Irfan and keep getting told soon now for several months. At one time Jim told me there was another person having the same issues and was wondering if they were getting the same answer or if they have received their replacement suit.
