Rob,
I plan for a 30 x 40 foot shop. That's the largest I can build on the property without getting a variance. If the shop isn't big enough to store all of my projects then I will just have to get rid of some of them!
I picked up this set of pliars a week ago. G503 lists the manufacturer as wartime but CeeTee Jamestown,NY and mine are simply CeeTeeCo CRESCENT USA. Not sure what the difference is there. Possibly changed the stampings after the war?

Derk,

Very nice collection, some great finds!

Was the Canadian tool kit was the same as the tool kit supplied with jeeps supplied to US Forces? I only ask because the tool, spares etc - the Vehicle Outfit List (VOL) - provided with jeeps issued to Australian forces was substantially different to the kit listed in the US-supplied parts & operators manuals. There was some commonality, of course, but many items were supplied from local (Aust) manufacturers and made to Australian Army requirements/standards.

Default Good Question.

Hi Mike,
I haven' looked into what type of Tool kit the jeep would have had once it came into Canadian supply but I would imagine the jeeps would have come with all of it's original tool kit when transferred over to Canadian hands. As far as the American tool kit,I can't imagine what other tools the Canadian military would have added that the original tool kit supplied would have been lacking. I can see if an American tool was missing that it would have been restocked with a Canadian brand. I am sure other MLU members out there can answer this question better than I can. I basically searched for whatever tool was on the original layout diagram and am almost there. I have always liked to display the tool kit in front of my military vehicles when I put them on display. I am still working on my Ford Universal Carrier Mk 1 tool kit and a complete tool kit for my Ford 3 ton CMP ambulance yet. I think it takes longer to find all of the original tools for a vehicle longer than to restore it!
Let's see if anybody else can clarify what a Canadian tool kit consisted of?
Regards,Derk

Hi Derk,

Just been catching up with your thread.
About your Grease Gun, I don't think that either are correct for your GPW. I had a thread on the G503 about a GG that i have, this is it,
http://g503.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=272329

It may give you an insight. I have just bought another GG with bakelite handle that's not correct either

Keep up the good work,

Dave
