Default Holland

10 minutes ago, I was talking to a Neerim South resident, 92 year old Harry, he is from from Valkenburg in Holland. He told me, in 1944 a SS panzer troop drove into his village and a young tank crew member came into their house and wanted some coffee!

The German said "we are going for a rest , to Arnhem ".

The German tanks were in Harry's town Valkenburg, two weeks before it was liberated . . He made his way to the UK and there, he joined the Dutch navy. There is a large wooden sign outside his driveway in Neerim South "VALKENBURG"

I will take a picture tomorrow .
