Nowadays, the new LED trucklite SMP lights are good from 12 volt to 36 volt with no changes. We were not so fortunate back then.

You would replace the 24 volt bulbs with their equivalent 12 volt bulb. The trailer would then be stenciled "12 Volt".

24v Bulbs are very dim on 12 volts.
