Echoes of Niagara’s Past: A Military Timeline Event
Join us at Fort George in historic Niagara on the Lake, Ontario on August 27 – 28th, as Parks Canada and the Lincoln and Welland Regimental Museum commemorate over 200 years of Niagara's military history. Throughout the weekend, Fort George will come to life as interpreters, animators and veterans display uniforms, weaponry and vehicles from the War of 1812, World War I, World War II and other historic time periods. Fort George will be open at 10:00 am to 4:00pm on Saturday and Sunday. There will be a parade of military vehicles through the Main Street of The Town of Niagara on the Lake at 11:00 am both days. Special programming will take place throughout the day, which will include musical demonstrations, musket and artillery presentations; a cavalry demonstration at 12:30 pm; a military fashion show at 1:00 pm; a “Firepower” Tactical Demonstration at 2:00 pm and a military vehicle demonstration at 3:30 pm with lots of programs in between! Military cars, motorcycles, and tanks will be on display throughout the grounds of Fort George, providing visitors with an opportunity to learn about these vehicles up close. Back by popular demand, on Saturday evening, the Arcs of War sound and light show will be returning to Fort George. This truly unique event combines the roar of tanks, the beating of drums and the crack of muskets with music, lights and pyrotechnics. Gates re-open at 7:30 pm, with the evening show starting at 8:30 pm. |

A thank you to the Parks Canada staff and organizers from The Lincoln and Welland Regiment for a great weekend show. We were treated exceptionally well, fed even better, and the trucking company used for the Sexton pick up and drop off were punctual and very professional. Well done!
