I for one will be sorry to see it go - even though it was pretty much inaccessible there was something intriguing and comforting about being able to see one of the last hoards of that sort of stuff sitting there.
Looking at the catalogue there are some excellent examples of mis-naming vis: 9 Armu blitz – English 1485L Model F60L. I think that may refer to the Cab 12 F60L on the fence line. 68 Cletrack recovery vehicle. This one is near the cab 12 and is a Cletrac High Speed Airfield Tractor. 392 What is it?? Sort of speaks for itself really.

With the price of scrap being so low there shouldn't be much competition from that quarter. He may have to pay to have what doesn't sell carted away.

Thanks for the heads up Tony.
Some of that crap looks like it could have been valuable or useful for parts 40 years ago. Have they listed the guy's can of bent nails? I, and others here, have seen so many of these collections, the owners are all the same, and so is the end ![]() There are at least a dozen of these collections here in WA, saw them when I was in my 20's way back. The Furphy lids and some of the bigger stationary motors will sell for good money. Thank God (or your choice of deity) for Trendies and yard art. Best thing for the family to do is push it in a heap and wait for the scrap price to rise. Hell, he waited till all his green stuff turned red and the scrap price will surely rise during the US/China war of 2056. |

Can't help but think when I see old machinery like that, what bone shakers they must've been, would have shaken the fillings from your teeth. Also what a long way machinery has come, so many exposed belts, cogs and wheels, people must've counted themselves lucky going home with their fingers and limbs!
Don't forget to take the mortein, I'm sure you'll be bringing home plenty of huntsmen, funnel webs and a myriad of other Aussie creepy and crawlies lol. Hopefully the steam powered stuff goes to good homes. |

A smorgasbord of metal.
Would you like rust with that? Website is saying it will be held over two weekends! Might make it harder for non locals. Hopefully a proper catalogue will be produced splitting the auction up ahead of time.

Just a quick look through the photos and I made a list. It is not complete as I know there is another Humber FV1600 in the shed. I had a good look around about 5 years ago with a young bloke who worked there. I took a few photos but they are hidden away somewhere. Plenty more ex military items which have not been photographed.
So here goes. Humber FV1600 (Yellow) Lend Lease CHEV Jeep x 4 Jeep CJ3 (?) Jeep trailer x 3 Jeep trailer early or bantam Austin Champ x 2 Austin Gypsy Ferret Mk.2 Ferret engine in a crate Ferret transmission White Scout Car cut up ex Forestry or SEC LP2A Bren Gun Carrier looks pretty complete Universal carrier British or early LP Cletrac airfield tractor, pretty complete but broken track Ford F60L Cab 12 Ford 24 stud V8 military engines x 2 IHC Dozer WWII. DUKW x 2 Wiles cooker 4 wheel trailer Radar trailer Unfortunately I can't make it but might ask someone who is going to make a bid or two. So who is going who can put in a bid for me if needed? Thanks Rick.
