A few more jobs done ,the shield is now top coated and hanging up until its ready to be fitted it also gives the paint time to harden before handling it.
Also a mate has just blast cleaned the platform/saddle and managed to get everywhere which is why I asked him to do it..............Excellent job !
Quite a bit of fiddly stuff to do next fitting the pedals, linkages etc and then paint it.

I've spent another day on the 2 pdr assembling the foot pedals and firing linkage.
When I dismantled the gun I realised that the foot pedal support was badly rotten and had twisted . I rebuilt the support but had an inkling in the back of my mind that the three eyes and bushes that support the pivot bar may not line up when reassembling the parts and guess what, they didn't. It took the best part of the morning reaming the bushes out a gnats cock at a time until the pivot bar passed through all three locations and moved nice and freely.
The linkage is now assembled and working a treat ,I also fitted the new floor pan that Adrian B made for me and guess what it fitted like a glove !

Now we are getting somewhere ! have to recondition the leather seals that go around the turntable so I'll have to hit ebay to find some suitable rivets.

Wow! That's a complex little bugger, isn't it.

Any museum would be happy to have it, with the quality of your work. Bet it doesn't go out in the rain.
