Default Auction.

Question now is if the bid is granted , even if you are the highest bidder , this does not mean , you won !!!.
Sexton bidding ended , no bids , and then another 1 and a 1/2 hour was added again for bidding , Looks all strange to me , After a lot was false bidding on the Army Cars collection , I think bidders are more careful now with this company.

Maybe you are right Maurice....as there seems to be a big contrast in bids when you compare this auction with that of the Normandy Tank museum, last Sunday.
Or maybe if you have just bought a Jeep for 77000, you just don't have enough cash left for a second auction

This ex-Danish Army GM C60X was auctioned off here in the Netherlands earlier this week:

https://www.troostwijkauctions.com/n...2-554-4136327/

Am posting it here because I don't think I've seen it before and would like to know who bought it.

Seems to be a rare Machinery version with the sides folding open and up.... Alex can you enlighten us?

Hanno, sadly I missed the viewing day, but I hope it went to a good home and that we will see it again....as I would love to have a close look at the truck and the remaining details in the body!

The truck is a rare Machinery "A", originally used for turning, drilling and grinding. Even though the tools and fixtures have gone, there aren't too many modifications on the rest of the truck and body which wouldn't make it too difficult to return to WW2 spec.

Originally it would have had a LeBlond 17" lathe with 54inch bed (lengthwise), a bench drill, some portable drills, bench grinder and a battery charger powered by a Briggs and Stratton engine in a compartment at right rear of the body.
That orange piece in the pictures looks a lot like the original storage for the lathe chucks, which was positioned under a bench in the front of the body. The left side of the bench was angled to gain access to the entrance door.

You might be surprised, but if you have a look around Ebay and some of the historic engineering websites, you will find that a lot of the original tools, like LeBlond lathes, Black and Decker drills, heaters, grinder etc. come up for sale quite regularly. So, with some time and effort you could make this C60X into a real show stopper...the problem is they also make good camper vans

regards,
Alex

Interestingly, this C60L was part of a radar train.

Are you saying its sold through Troostwijk?

I thought if you put up an object for auction you are not allowed to sell through other channels...

Any way, it reminds me of the one i saw in 2014 at the KTR basecamp

Why not take the effort to fill up that tyre before making the picture ?
Or making a recent picture at least.
The picture in the ad was taken during the auction in 2017.
Still a real beauty that deserves a good home.
