Todays offerings ,axle and spring removed so pretty much there with breaking it down. I have had a delivery of new fabricated parts courtesy of Adrian Barrell and an excellent job he has done .I have also renewed the tie bars as the originals were beyond straightening.
We have an original pattern for the seat pan if anyone out there needs a seat making.

After scouring the net I finally managed to find the tread pattern I was looking for so £500 later I now have wheels and tyres !
Next job is to buy some paint and then I can crack on putting things back together. The gun is going to be Service Brown.

Default 2 pdr

I have had a push on with the 2 pdr restoration and completed the carriage so I am now working on the turn table and saddle although on the 2 pdr this is all one piece.
I have had problems with the paint and its finish so not 100% happy but 'such is life ' I guess.
Pics of progress.

I managed to get a couple of days working back on the 2 pounder with no interruptions , I had the barrel and slipper blast cleaned and reassembled the two parts. I was lucky enough to get some thin primer under the barrel and inside the slipper before assembly , from past experience there normally isn't the slack to do this but it gives the hidden areas some protection against the threat of rust returning.

Hi Rob,

Looking good as usual!
Did you remember to take some measurements from the barrel? Need to reproduce one for my DAC. Thank you!

Cheers,

Ordnance is now assembled and painted ,very pleased that it all went together by hand , nice and smooth, no hammers or blocks required !
Shield is at the blasters so I am hoping to get that back in the next couple of days so I will prep and prime but will not top coat until it is ready to be fitted.
