Checking the pics and Im just wondering what are these (see pics) roof brackets for? Never seen them on others FATs.
Thanks!

Those brackets are for attaching the firing platform of a 25 pdr.
They where also fitted to the early Morris, as seen on the picture.
I can not remember ever seeing a picture with a FAT with the platform on the back, I guess because it would have been bloody heavy lifting to get it up there for the crew,
I think they where removed towards the end of the war, but could be wrong

Default The internet and forum is fantastic

This is the reason why I really like the internet and this forum.
My restored CGT did not have the cut out for the spare wheel carrier.
What to do....
Through facebook I came in contact with a guy in Norway who had the original one, I made a drawing from pictures of his, then he filled out the measurements, a friend (who I came contact with through MLU) in the UK then made two from the drawings as he needed one as well.
Non of it would have happend with out this place.

Hello niels
Do you find out if this bracket is for the spare wheel of the truck or the gun?

I make lots of mesurements on picture, for me the 10.5 x20 cant go between the tubes . A this time the other cmp has run flat and no spare wheel , I will have to built this parts on my truck and I would be happy to understand how it works.

Maybe someone has a picture with the wheel?

Best regards
Sylvain

Based on this picture spare wheel carrier on the FAT cab 12 is for a spare wheel for the limber and gun.
and a picture of a Karrier with the platform on the back.
and a picture of a Cab 13 with both gun and tractor tire.
