I recall many years back a TV documentary on the recovery of Russian bullion from a British cruiser up North somewhere, To get to where the bullion had been stored, the salvage crew had to work through a munitions hold in the ship and several of these boxes were shown scattered about. The ammunition in some of them was absolutely pristine looking!
