With the little adapter, that I found somewhere else, at a different time, I think it can be used for the early distributor

Lynn, I have an instructional manual for same, I can copy and send to you if you like. I have two of these fixtures.
I believe that the adapter fitting you have is the cam spacer which is required on early model flatheads running later model dizzys or vice versa (can't recall which is which at the moment...)

Lynn.

I think the Ford CMP Maintenance Manuals also have a section explaining how it is used as well.

Hi Chris, I have since worked out that the machine adjusts for the height difference between the two types of dizzy.
Yes please a copy would be great.
Electronic is fine. Thank you.

David, there is a little bit in one of my manuals, but not much.

I have a Ford manual (SE170) titled "Distributor Timing Fixture X12127D..Operating Instructions". It is a total of 9 pages and covers all of the various distibutors that can be adjusted with the fixture. I have both the fixture and manual courtesy of Gord Falk who has loaned them to me on a semi-permanent basis.

Perhaps I should scan them and post them here.
