Default Lancaster

Hi Guys

It was my pleasure to share the clip with you. There is something special when we see and hear those WW2 planes and like you I can't wait to see the full doco. These old planes like our restored vehicles should be saved for future generations to see.

Cheers

Tony

Equally stirring (and twice as many Merlins) are the 2010 Youtube videos of 16 Spitfires at Duxford.

Default Great

Hi All

I loved the videos and also of the Spitfires, boy that bought back memories of my visit to Duxford some years ago watching those old planes and also being to actually talk to one of the pilots and touch his plane.

Cheers

If you want to go to the other extreme of emotions, search YouTube for B-29 frozen in time. It's nearly an hour of video, and only the first 50 minutes or so are enjoyable. After that comes the sad bit. Some aviation enthusiasts found a B29 in a remote and snowy location, got it ready to fly out, then the APU broke free from it's mounting while taxiing, and the whole aircraft burnt to the ground/snow. Made me feel sick watching the disaster.
