That's exactly what I found, same as us in Australia, you see a few flags waved at parades and a few people now put a flag up in their front yard and you see a fair few on Australia Day, but WW2 pictures there is hardly a flag anywhere unless it is on a ship.

Even as proud as I am of my beloved flag, I only put mine out for ANZAC Day.
