Hi Shane,
Tim Scrivens has a Cab13 2pdr. anti-tank portee. It looks to be much the same as the Cab12 from the back of the cab. You should be able to get the measurements of it. corowa2009a 087a.jpg Regards Rick

I took these several years ago. It was jammed in so it was difficult to get any good ones.
Pics didn't upload - will try another way.

Lovely work on the truck, Shane. I am looking forward to your updates on the conversion to portee!
Excellent work on the hinges Colin...I was looking at a cab11 recently and the hinges were absolutely terrible....probably suffered from corrosion, than mangled due to the weight of the door and than welded again. ![]() Shanes hinges look very, very nice. Alex

Am I correct in assuming all Cab 12 portees found in Australia are ex-ME vehicles? Or did we receive some new deliveries earlier?

Hi
There is a pic of a cab 12 portee on page 146 , in The history of Holden book by Norm Darwin . Looks like a pic taken at GMH plant somewhere. Not sure if this vehicle was ex ME ? Anyway, years ago I met a chap who was a driver in the AIF, he was a ham radio operator too. We chatted about vehicles and he said among many things, he drove 2 pounder portees from GMH Fishermeans bend up to Puckapunyal . His parents house was in Falkner and he stopped at home to show off the truck to everyone . He was in the ME and mentioned he rode captured ALCI ( pronounced AL CHEE ) or similar Italian motorbikes , he said he loved them . I had my copy of observers book with me . Nice old bloke he was Mike

Thanks for the photos lads they look great.
Took the wife and little ones to the Royal Adelaide Show to spend a a little family time together on Father's Day.(Spent much a weekend on the resto so i thought it would be the right thing to do) We saw cattle, wood chopping, show bags, snakes, fireworks and so much more.. 20140907_191317a.jpg 20140907_224643a.jpg 20140907_175302a.jpg Now if this is not a sign from above that i should be working on my truck instead of pushing through thousands of people for over six hours i don't know what is 20140907_152457a.jpg 20140907_152609a.jpg I mean what are the chances people..... Very tempting to go back after hours and get that drivers door for you Tony
