The Holmes rig appears to be the same as used on the WW2 Diamond T Wrecker and is very likely from one of those vehicles.
The 4 ton 6x6 Diamond T was too slow and too thirsty for the tow truck guys and the rigs were often put on more modern, faster trucks. David
