Just remember, a trap for young players is that when you increase the thickness of the backrest on the drivers side, the door of the little drivers box on the dash will not open properly. In the past I have relocated the " Tapped Buttons 10mm - 15mm closer to the dash so the door will open, when using a thicker backrest from an original. I usually use 2" on the bottom and 1 1/2" on the back. I do have a NOS original if you want the proper measurements, but you will find it uncomfortable to drive if you use this thinner thickness.

I found some original NOS Rexene seats cushions for my MK 2. They are filled with layers of a horse hair material. The filling is 3" thick. I also found an original drivers back rest which is about 1" thick. Ron
