The cable core pulls back through the housing towards the speedometer drive end.
I have one of Brian Asbury's cores heading my way as we speak to try and fix mine. Otherwise I'll have to make a trip to the city to get one made. |

Disconnect the cable at the bottom end.
The cable has a spring steel support at the bottom end. The bottom of which hooks into a hole in the end of the outer at the diff end. Unclip it. This then allows you to slide the nut up the cable a bit, and it exposes a washer type clip. Slide that out to the side (mine is a tight fit) and then you should be able to pull the inner up from the top end. This is part of an early British UC cable> I do not have the top end of it, so my instructions are a compilation of what I have, and what Rob said.
