Yes, they were contracted to heat treat and straighten 45,000 ton of the plate manufactured by Dominion Foundry and Steel Company of Hamilton. (DOFASCO). The SDA company stamp can be found on the plates. The late Dr. Wm Gregg published some research in this area. He, (Gregg) wrote the plates were then punched by International Harvester in Hamilton, shipped to the Windsor area and assembled by Dominion Bridge into hulls. The hulls were shipped by rail to the Ford assembly plant. There are images posted on MLU of the hulls being delivered to Ford Windsor.
