No worries Tony thanks mate.

Went to my (when i say mine im only a member there) military museum and thought people on the forum would like to see what is in the collection. The land and buildings of the museum are up for sale and we have been given the first opportunity to purchace. However with only one hundred members its hard to come up with a few hundred thousand dollars, so if anyone out there can make a donation or know of persons who can help give me a yell.

The last picture is Bob Moseley's truck and is for sale. I think the asking price is $8000 but don't hold me to that, can find out if someone wants. There are many other vehicles and great items at the Military Vehicle Preservation Society in South Australia so go check it out, there is an open day next weekend to raise money for Angel Flight ill be on the gate so come say g'day.

Nice pics Shane, an excellent collection of vehicles. That's a very good price for Bob's truck too if it is correct.

I think its a 5-inch 54 calibre: the armament on the Perth Class Guided Missile Destroyers (US Charles F Adams Class, modified for Australia). HMAS Perth, Brisbane and Hobart. Now all retired and disposed of as dive reefs.

It's a Naval round only. The turret system is automatic - push the firing trigger down in the Gun Plot room and it just keeps banging away until the magazine guys cry 'enough' and stop feeding it or the finger is taken off the trigger. It's a joy to watch the turret mechanicals up close.

The last is a throttle or choke knob for a Ford SV V8 - standard on many pre-war and wartime Ford trucks and lorries, including your cab 12. Should have 'T' or 'C' engraved/stamped into the face of the knob.
