Thanks, Rob, I'll add that info to my list. Canada is show on the 1996 NATO document as 20, rather than 21 (which is vacant in that document), so maybe the other way around, ie used 20 first, then 21 once the '20' series was exhausted?

Nope, I can absolutely unequivocally guarantee is was 21 from the implementation of NSNs until approx 2002/2003. Then we went to 20 cause 22 was already taken.

Off the top of my head, the Kent Moore double flaring tool was a 5120-21-111-3075 stock number. Very early number, with a 21 country identifier.

Many small arms (like the FNs and Enfields)and their parts are in the 1005-21-103 range as well, again stuff from the 50s.

So I wonder why the 1996 NATO doc has it listed as 20, and no entry for 21: printer error? Curious!

Just goes to show: never take a single document at face value!

This is really interesting, I originally was just wanting to id the two items. Now we have a great listing of NATO numbers etc.

Anyone ID the hand piece?

Only that is bears the logo of the Standard Telephone Company, not much else to go on.
