19,000 revolutions make a lot more sense.

The 1500 mile life of an engine also sounds about right. Armour is hard on engines, primarily due to cooling difficulties. In more modern times, an M113A2 APC engine (which was a detroit 6V53) normally gave around 10,000 miles before requiring rebuild. The AVGP, which had virtually the same engine except with a turbo, was good for 19,000 miles. The average bus, which also ran 6V53s, were usually good for a hundred thousand + miles.
