The distributor is a 46 to 48 model. it can be changed as can all the other things.
The one telling thing that says it has never been a carrier engine, is that the other hole at the rear for the oil cooler has never been drilled. It might be a postwar American built motor. If it is in good nick inside or rebuildable it can work in a carrier.
