It's from an American sighting telescope, used in several different AFV's.

My Sherman has no need for one as it is too early for a direct sight scope. I do have some telescopes that have that part missing but they are frankly surplus to requirements so there must be a more worthy owner out there!

Robin, does your ''baggage train'' have any artillery stuff in it, particularly 155mm howitzer?
