Phil,

Im looking definitely for a Ford version of Ambulance judging from a few post war photos and some vehicle remains we found before some years.
I think that the vehicles shown in the photo below are F30s, what's your opinion?

Richard,

A french friend of mine promised to send me photos of a F60L Ambulance in France, which adorns a local Museum's collection! More soon!

16-inch wheels, so those must be F30's. The F60S had 20-inch wheels.

Search this forum for information and pictures, Phil has a few on his site, too: http://www.canadianmilitarypattern.c...ationShare.htm

Hi Kostas,
I think those ambulances are on a 158" wheelbase chassis as I can see spare wheels behind the cabs on two of them.
regards, Richard

Ah yes, if 158" WB they are those elusive F60L chassis with 16-inch wheels, light steering box etc.

Would this be the 134-inch WB version?

Never a dull moment with CMPs....

Default F60L with 16'' wheels?

Hi All,
I am ready to soon start on my Ford 3 ton 158'' wheel base ambulance and Rob Love mentioned to me that he heard of the F60L that had 16'' wheels.I have never found any actual reference to back this up and I am not sure If I asked Rob where he found this informaton.Has anybody heard of this for the
F60L ambulance?
Service publications has some excellent shots of the Ford ambulance box interiors, maybe contact Clive and get his disc, well worth the money!
The picture you show are Chevy 3 tons with the round roof hatch, spare tire in between the cab and box and the engine crank guide riveted on the front bumper as identifiable signs.
Regards,Derk.
