The sterling smg bracket is mounted on the dashboard, to the left of the grab bar.
The hole spacing looks absolutely correct for a pyrene style mount

SMG rack came out much later and mounted on the dash. In the 52's the fire ex was mounted on the back of the left fender. Then between the seats.

The pyrene ext. in the 42's was in the footwell!

Hi Rob, mine is a 1967 (#12 lowest serial number of the cdn 2 series- I don't know if that makes it number 12 off the line though). It was running last in 1986 and then sat under a tarp for 25 years before I purchased it. Getting close to starting it up now.
Thanks,
Rick

Hey Rick... Casey here I have the correct fire extinguisher mount for that year. It is for the more correct ansul type sadly no extinguisher but the mount is of the round metal wire type welded and has the holes where you'd expect them to be as well. Let me know it's yours but you'd have to come out to collect this time...okay?
By for now Casey

Casey, sounds great. I just bought a NOS flat bottom Ansul 5 lb off of Epay but need the mounting bracket. I figure that if (when?) things get toasty, I'd rather have the ansul extinguisher instead of the old pyrene.
Cheers, Rick

Whoa seems like you need the older Pyrene type Rick. Mine had the same 6 holes and the bracket I got fit perfect. The other type I had was for the 67 you bought and it had 3 holes and was for the Ansul type. If you are putting the Ansul type in by all means the bracket is yours.

The pyrene looks nice but is totally useless for a real fire. A small new extinguisher fits nicely in the glove box!

Let me know and how the starting goes as well. If the carb is not getting fuel you know what you have to do...reset the float! and probably down closer to the bowl. It is hit and miss. Rick try just spraying some fuel in the carb to see if she fires and wants to run.
Good luck.
Casey
