Stephen,

Thanks for that. My carrier is a Canadian MK2 No2 * built in November 1944 as well. Whats your vehicle numbers, it would be interesting to see how close they are. i once had 2 carriers and they were one day apart in production ( 33 vehicles apart ).

Its just the spotter coming out in me
TTFN
Shaun

Default No. 2 Mk. II* Engine Grill

The grill is retained in four sections of steel framework, folded over each edge of the mesh. The framework corners welded. The grommet is made of brass, the internal diameter measures 5/8 of an inch.

The outside framework measures 17-3/4 inches long by 16 inches wide. PM if you need more pics or details. This frame is from an April, 1944 Canadian No. 2 Mk. II* Carrier.

Hello Michael

Thank you for the pictures, I take it that the mesh is flat on your cover.

Default Guys

Just so you know, The earlier U.C ones were all brass or copper (frame and mesh) the mesh was a round woven wire.

Hello Shaun
I got my number from the top of the armour infront of the driver seat, where the acceptance marks are. There is the war dept No T297042, date and serial number 29562, a few after yours. Which number should be displayed on the side of the carrier.
thanks stephen
