Twin engine

This is a power pack from a Matilda II, they are Leyland engines, models E148 and E149.

The AEC engines which were also fitted had a slightly longer stroke of 130 mm.

Note that the word before "ENGINE" on the plate has been obliterated, it would no doubt have said LEYLAND. I have said this before that I am of the belief these makers names were removed to hide the manufacturing source of munitions.
