Default Shaun

The springs on the front bogie are 10.5 coils and in service should be 10.22 to 10.42 inches long.
The rear bogie springs are of 9.75 coils, and a length of 9.4 to 9.6 inches long.
The inner springs are all the same, at 13.25 coils and 9.09 to 9.19 inches long. What I dont have is the wire diameters.
You should have suitable samples, which will give you the wire diameters, and show how the ends are finished.
The book says that if the springs are reduced by m,ore than a 1/16 of an inch under these lengths, they should be replaced.
This info is from the Jan.1943 U.C. workshop instruction book. Chilwell 63/63.
Does that help?

On the variation between UC and T16, I sent a MkI UC spring to Andrew H. for his T16. He said it was spot on.
