Thats funny Bob,

I used to work for Engines Extra but at the Stafford Road shop. We were originally called Bells Corners Machine shop before being bought out by the Benson conglomerate.

Sadly the automotive machine shop world with acid hot tanks and washing machines were not very eco friendly and even in my day the writing was on the wall.

Sad to hear that Bruce Perley and the boys have lost their jobs.

There was a chap used by the roundey roundey race boy types by the name of Larry Slaxton or something similar in Carleton Place. He was pickey and expensive.

When my 261 was done by the Star Top guys the block was ent to the Stafford road shop for the washing in the huge dishwasher engine washer unit. They re-assembled and machined everyting back at the East end store.

I need to contact some of the hot rod guys out in the East end to see what they can recommend..... also will check with the rural tractor shop who regualrly send out Massey F. Dodge and Continental engines for rebuild.... thes old low revs high torquing engines are favorite at plowing matches.....

Any body else cares to comment.....

Do any of you Guys know if IDEAL Supply is in your neck of the woods They will do an engine how ever you want it done (wash clean grind cranks ,cams the works and will put it together for you if that is your wish

They do not have facilities East of Toronto..... to bad.

Ottawa with the "Hot Air Engines" of goberment has no industrial base to speak of..... everything is either TO or Montreal.....

There is Ideal Supply that has its head offices/machine shop/ warehouse in Listowel Ontario. Around here the less happy happy customers who have had engine work done by their shops call them Ideal Surprise!
