The counterbalance is for the 75mm main gun as installed in the Grant Tank. This has already gone to a restoration project.

Which Stag ammo box are you after as there are a number of boxes shown in the photos (post #1)?

Looks more like a pair of Grant 75mm trunnion caps placed together than an M2 counterbalance..?

You may be right Alex. I don't have them anymore so can't go and have closer look
